The Pork Company is seeking hard-working, disciplined individuals to join our Livestock Team Member team. This position offers opportunities to earn additional money through overtime hours.

Responsibilities

• Dumping hair barrels
• Placing hogs in pens
• Moving hogs from the pens to the Harvest floor
• Ensuring humane handling of hogs
• Ensuring safe and humane delivery and unloading of hogs
• Conducting checks on the condition of the hog pens and hogs
• Making sure there is no more than 10 hogs are delivered to the Harvest Floor chute at one time
• Ensuring a steady flow of hogs to the harvest floor with minimal downtime
• Picking up trash around the plant and emptying trash cans
• Cleaning and sanitizing the hogs pens
• Preparing tools and equipment for the day
• Helping prepare hogs for harvest
• Begins delivering hogs to harvest floor when harvest begins in the morning
• Makes sure the correct hogs are being taken to harvest
• Delivers hogs as needed to harvest floor for harvesting until the harvest ends
• Clean and put away all tools
• Clean the barn

Requirements

Experience working in the meat processing industry is preferred, but not required. A strong work ethic and ability to handle physical labor are essential. Knowledge of humane animal handling practices is beneficial.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

Skills

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is important. Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects are required.
