Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Read and follow schedules in order to weld appropriate parts or product, while following standard work processes and adhering to all quality standards and safety rules.
  • Check inventory (wires, gas cylinder, etc) as required to perform job and replenish when necessary.
  • Maintain a work pace that supports production goals.
  • Perform quality checks and product testing according to standard work.
  • Perform TPM procedures as required on specified equipment, maintain clean work area and follow 6S guidelines.
  • Perform rework of part or product as necessary to maintain quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Follow standard work for Welder classification; suggest and document improvements to standard work.
  • Member will be expected to maintain flexibility and will occasionally perform other roles in Level 3, Level 2, and Level 1, Member may be required to train others in Level 3, Level 2, and/or Level 1 roles per the Member Training Program.
  • Must become a product expert and maintain a high level of craftsmanship.
  • Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.

Work Environment/ Physical Conditions

  • Dust, fumes and noise are commonplace.
  • Seasonal fluctuations in temperatures and humidity are expected.
  • Stand and/or work for up to 10-hours per day.
  • Lift and carry up to 40lbs on a continuous basis.

What It Takes

  • As an Advanced Welder, you must have working knowledge of MIG, TIG, brazing, arc and/or robotic welding and equipment.
  • Will work under minimal supervision and at times minimal direction.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute to standard work.
  • Ability to take direction, as well as, direct or delegate to others.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, while maintaining a positive attitude and approach.
  • Ability to perform high volume repetitive type work.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills through root cause analysis.
  • To pass a welding test, if required.

Required Skills and Abilities

Experience Needed

  • HNI experience or prior experience as a Welder is required.
  • Consistent work history and dependability.
  • Proven history of strong work performance.

Education And/or Required Training

  • No prior education or training is required.
  • Welding certification preferred but not required.
