About the Role

Conde Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Vehicle Upfitting Technician to join a growing and dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in outfitting police, fire, EMS, and other public safety vehicles with specialized equipment that helps first responders perform their duties safely and effectively. Working alongside experienced technicians, you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of emergency vehicle systems while developing your technical skills and industry knowledge.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and passionate about supporting public safety professionals. This position offers an excellent opportunity to build specialized skills in emergency vehicle upfitting while contributing to the readiness and reliability of vehicles used by first responders every day.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure emergency lighting, sirens, communication equipment, and other specialty vehicle systems.
• Assist with wiring, routing, and connecting 12-volt electrical components and accessories.
• Install equipment such as push bumpers, prisoner transport compartments, K9 units, vehicle consoles, partitions, and storage systems.
• Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical issues using testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Remove and reinstall vehicle components, including seats, trim panels, dashboards, and bumpers, to support equipment installations.
• Read and follow wiring diagrams, installation instructions, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow company safety procedures and quality standards on all projects.
• Work collaboratively with technicians and team members to complete installations on schedule.

Requirements

• Prior automotive, mechanical, or equipment installation experience required.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and other testing equipment.
• Basic knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems and vehicle wiring.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and installation guides.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
• High School Education required.
• Certifications are preferred.
• Experience working with emergency, fleet, police, fire, or EMS vehicles is preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
