262171 Mental Health and Learning Disability Manager

About the role

Internal secondment opportunity for Interim Mental Health and Learning Disability Service Manager in Central Aberdeenshire, up to 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for community Mental Health and Learning Disability teams and services in Central Aberdeenshire, including Adult and Older Adult Community Mental Health Teams, Community Learning Disability Teams, Day Services and Psychological Therapies.
• Lead health and social care delivery across services and teams, working closely with Mental Health and Learning Disability Service Managers for North and South Aberdeenshire.
• Ensure services align with Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care’s Strategic priorities and comply with national policy, strategy, legislation, clinical and care governance standards (including Care Inspectorate registration) while delivering safe, high-quality, trauma‑informed, person‑centred care within budget.
• Manage direct reports employed by NHS Grampian or Aberdeenshire Council, adhering to workforce policies and governance standards of both organisations.
• Lead strategy areas and savings projects overseen by the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Sustainability Board.
• Participate in key Grampian‑wide projects via the Mental Health and Learning Disability Cross‑System Strategic Delivery Team.
• Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary senior leadership team, building collaborative relationships across Aberdeenshire and Grampian to support sustainable, integrated services.
• Report to the Partnership Manager for North Aberdeenshire.

• Able to operate at the required level immediately.
• Have line‑manager agreement to apply for this secondment.
