About the role

The Resource Teacher's Assistant position at Norman Public Schools requires meeting Tier 1 (Title 1) Paraprofessional Requirements or Tier 2 (Special Education) Paraprofessional Requirements. Certification fees are $12.00 and are paid directly to the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Aid in instruction and activities as directed by the teacher.
• Supervise students in various settings including instructional, off-campus, and non-instructional activities.
• Serve as a primary source of information and assistance for substitute teachers.
• Assist with student behavior management strategies.
• Perform housekeeping duties to ensure classrooms are neat and clean.
• Operate various equipment and assist with compiling student work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Meet Tier 1 Paraprofessional Requirements or Tier 2 Paraprofessional Requirements.
• Previous work or volunteer experience with children, teenagers, and/or clerical experience preferred.
• Must maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• College hours helpful in meeting Tier 1 Paraprofessional Requirements.
