Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher, or 48 credit hours from an accredited college/university; or pass the ParaPro test
• Possess or be eligible to obtain a level three Educational Assistant licensure issued by the New Mexico Public Education Department
• Fluent in American Sign Language, demonstrated by:
  • Successful ASL demonstration administered through the Special Education Department, or
  • Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.0 or above
• Experience and knowledge of deaf culture

An FBI fingerprint background check will be conducted on all new hires at the employee's cost. Continued employment is contingent upon the results of the background check.
