26/27 Spanish Language & Culture Enrichment Facilitator, Florida Mesa Elementary School, 0.4 FTE

Part-time (0.40 FTE; 16 hours per week) position at Florida Mesa Elementary School for the 2026/2027 school year. Includes part-time benefits and employee workforce housing available. Newly hired staff receive a $720 one-time bonus (pro-rated for late start).

About the role

Plan instruction and assessment for supplemental enrichment lessons in Spanish language (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and culture. Assist the licensed teacher in supervising students during enrichment lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment. Work with the licensed teacher to adapt enrichment lessons to meet the individual learning needs of all students. Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Utilize effective teaching strategies to teach supplemental enrichment lessons in Spanish language (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and culture.
• Work with the licensed teacher to modify and tailor enrichment lessons to address individual student differences, learning styles, and abilities.
• Implement supplemental enrichment lessons that connect the learning of the Spanish language to its associated cultures.
• Utilize identified computer-based language acquisition programs to assist in lesson facilitation, including setting up student profiles and maintaining them.
• Maintain an orderly, positive learning environment free from disruptive behavior by implementing established classroom management strategies.
• Follow safety instructions for students when activities or materials pose potential harm, including the use of personal protective devices.
• Model and promote character education, including citizenship, respect, bullying prevention, conflict resolution, and responsible work habits.
• Engage in professional learning and use feedback from observations to grow professionally.
• Abide by all applicable Federal and Colorado laws, Board of Education policies, and District regulations.
• Assure the safety and welfare of students, including constant supervision.
• Demonstrate faithfulness and promptness in attendance and submit required reports on time.
• Demonstrate care and protection of School District property.
• Report suspected child abuse or neglect as required by law.
• Use the District’s internet and email system as specified in policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent, or their designees.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (minimum).
• Colorado Substitute Authorization from the Colorado Department of Education (minimum requirement).
• Proficiency in Spanish language (speaking, listening, reading, and writing).
• Advanced ability to connect language learning with cultural learning.
• Experience working with youth and facilitating lessons is preferred but not required.
