Essential Job Functions
- Aid in identifying and referring speech language-impaired children.
- Conduct speech-language assessments.
- Participate in comprehensive staffing.
- Carefully coordinate information between the department and other service providers.
- Provide liaison services to receiving school districts or treatment facilities.
- Prepare comprehensive speech-language reports and make intervention recommendations.
- Attend categorical eligibility meetings and present evaluation results.
- Consult and instruct school personnel and parents on the therapeutic management of students.
- Collaborate with physicians, hospitals, and other medical personnel regarding the needs of speech-language-impaired children.
- Maintain confidential records and document progress.
- Write and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Regularly use close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
