Speech and Language Services
- Provide group and individual sessions according to the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Write annual speech progress reports and objectives on IEPs to ensure students are on track to reaching their most rigorous post-secondary outcome.
- Administer formal assessments to determine whether or not a scholar qualifies for speech therapy based on Louisiana Bulletin 1508 requirements.
- Maintain compliance by writing daily progress notes as required by Medicaid regulations to ensure treatment ties directly to IEP goals/objectives.
- Keep certifications and licensure current and trained on electronic encounter tracking systems.
- Remain knowledgeable of current trends, including federal and state regulations in the field of speech-language pathology and special education to ensure compliance.
- Build capacity and support staff collaboration by consulting School Leaders, Directors of Curriculum and Instruction, and Directors of Intervention and Program Leads regarding opportunities to incorporate speech and language strategies in classroom settings.
- Provide professional development for teachers across the network to incorporate speech and language strategies into their classes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably working with students from similar backgrounds to Collegiate Academies students.
