26/27 Assistant Wrestling Coach, Escalante Middle School

About the role

Durango School District is accepting applications for Assistant Wrestling Coach at Escalante Middle School. This position includes instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of wrestling. We are a member of the San Juan Basin League; the season runs late January 2027 through mid-March 2027.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize practices
• Instruct players on techniques to develop fundamental skills
• Provide feedback to help players improve
• Encourage and support good teamwork and sportsmanship
• Assist head coach in other duties
• Communicate with players, coaches, parents, AD and admin

Preferred Qualifications

• Fundamental knowledge of wrestling
• Experience working with school-aged athletes
• CPR/AED certified, or ability to get certified
