What You'll Be Doing:
- Cook up a full team in compliance with MSHSAA standards.
- Aid in the implementation of athletic standards as outlined in the MSHSAA Handbook and attend all MSHSAA required sessions.
- Collaborate in the coordination of the program.
- Supervise students at practices and contests.
- Provide information for transportation, facilities, officials, and game management.
- Organize and schedule practice sessions regularly with the aim of enhancing student-athletes' potential.
- Emphasize safety precautions and adhere to the best training and injury management procedures.
- Operate ethically and uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship during practices and contests.
- Ensure the systematic return of all school equipment in accordance with the KCMSD Athletic Department Handbook.
- Pursue professional growth through clinics and professional publications.
- Successfully complete the MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses.
- Fulfill 8 contact hours of professional development: 4 hours at district level meetings, 3 hours at school level meetings, and 1 hour at outside meetings or clinics.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a Teachers Certificate or valid Substitute Certificate or Temporary (provisional) Teacher’s Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Full or part-time employee in the District.
- Employed in the school as a teacher or administrator in which the candidate applies for a position.
Physical Demands:
- Sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and fingers.
- Bend, stoop, lift objects of at least 25 pounds.
