Essential Job Responsibilities
- Identifies current and future electrical requirements by establishing a rapport with management, engineering, production personnel, technicians, and other persons in a position to understand electrical requirements.
- Safeguards production operations by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of electricity.
- Supports product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans, discussing equipment needs and modifications, coordinating activities of electrician and other workers.
- Directs electrical operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Supervises electrical, instrument, analyzer, air conditioning, and heating repairs.
- Aids in the planning, scheduling, and implementation of construction, maintenance, and operating activities of the plant/field.
- Aids in the training of lower-level employees on how to perform the duties of maintenance, construction, and repair of utilities and company equipment.
- Aids plant operators, as needed.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
- Adheres to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
- Supports company vision and mission.
- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
Qualifications
- Three (3) years minimum experience required in oil and gas and field electrical/automation maintenance as an I&E Tech or similar role.
- Preferred: Three (3) years minimum working contract for Hilcorp Energy.
- Specialized knowledge of DC Voltage Systems and up to 480Vac systems.
- Required working knowledge of Program Logic Controllers (PLC) and flow computers.
- Required ability to perform maintenance and troubleshooting on multiple type of controllers (Ex: Fisher, Kimray, Totalflow, Bristol, Sam Controller, etc.).
- Required ability to install, develop and maintain Radio and Cellular networks for reliable communications to SCADA. Including Modbus communications with 3rd Party devices.
- Required ability to read and understand Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Required ability to perform maintenance and troubleshooting on automation end devices.
- Working knowledge of variable speed drives for electrical motors.
- Working knowledge of electronic or pneumatic control valves.
- Required ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
- Able to travel and may be required to stay overnight for certain task and projects.
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Able to accurately solve problems.
- Able to be available 24 hours per day (On Call Schedule and for questions, emergencies, etc.).
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public.
- Able to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
