About the role

Supports projects, installation, and maintenance of facility instrumentation and electrical components to ensure a safe, comfortable, operating environment.

Responsibilities

• Identifies current and future Instrumentation/Controls requirements by establishing a rapport with management, engineering, production personnel, technicians, and others in a position to understand controls requirements.
• Directs and supervises contractors as needed to complete assignments that require more than one person.
• Assists in the training of employees on maintenance, construction, and repair of instruments/analyzers and electrical equipment.
• Ensures equipment is operating properly by determining work priorities and scheduling repair, maintenance, and installation of controls equipment.
• Supports product development and improvement by reviewing new product plans, discussing equipment needs and modifications, and coordinating activities with other facility crafts.
• Supports and maintains electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instrumentation of various types and manufacturers.
• Supports Operations and Maintenance departments as needed.
• Troubleshoots analyzers and performs calibrations of pressure, level, flow, and temperature transmitters and switches.
• Performs DCS/PLC maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Utilizes trends to diagnose and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Responds to power outages.
• Runs conduit and tubing as needed.
• Adheres to the company’s values: integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
• Supports company vision and mission.
• Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards, and is punctual to work and meetings.
• Maintains low and medium voltage equipment.
• Available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
• Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Five (5) years minimum experience in plant electrical/instrumentation maintenance.
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to accurately solve problems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and the public.
• Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.

Qualifications

Work requires an educational background normally acquired through a degree in Instrumentation, Process Control, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
