About the Role

Assist Landmen in preparation of oil & gas contracts; processing of oil & gas leases and all related contracts and correspondence to files, county clerks, land administration, and partners. Handle processing of AFEs and invoices, coordinate AFE proposal elections by partners, and set up Joint Interest Billings.

Responsibilities

  • Type correspondence and contracts.
  • Research leases, contracts, and regulatory orders for proposals or specific information for Landmen.
  • Pay off drafts for new lease purchases and verify associated documentation for accuracy.
  • Prepare form transmittals, check requests, oil and gas leases, assignments, right of ways, and other associated contracts.
  • Copy and transmit leases, assignments, etc., to the land administration group and partners.
  • Review invoices, code to appropriate AFE, circulate for approvals, and process for payment.
  • Prepare and fax/mail proposal letters to partners on well drilling, workovers, recompletions, lease acquisitions, etc.
  • Maintain spreadsheets to monitor proposals, AFE spending, lease acreage, and related bonus, brokerage, and other costs.
  • Adhere to the company’s values: integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.

  • Adhere to established work schedule, attendance standards, and punctuality requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years minimum experience as a Land Tech preferred or a 4-year bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Energy Commerce from an accredited college or university.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and prioritize workload.
  • Working knowledge of Land Department functions.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent with specialized coursework in general office practices such as typing, accounting, and data processing.
  • Preferred: College degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with an emphasis in Energy Commerce.
