About the role
Signal Support Systems Specialists integrate signal systems and networks, perform signal support functions, and maintain and install various types of equipment. They also provide technical assistance and training for automation and communications equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain radio and data distribution systems
- Perform signal support functions and technical assistance for computer systems
- Provide technical assistance and training for local area networks
- Maintain equipment, terminal devices, assigned vehicles, and power generators
Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Age between 17 and 35
- Pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
- Meet citizenship requirements (see NATIONALGUARD.com for details)
Qualifications
- Interest in working with electronic equipment
- Interest in problem-solving
Skills
- Mechanical and electrical principles
- Preventive maintenance procedures
- Line installation and wiring techniques

Basic Training: 10 weeks
Advanced Individual Training (AIT): 18 weeks
