About the role

Two full-time, permanent Infection Prevention and Control Nurses delivering a planned programme for infection prevention and control across NHS Lothian sites. The role involves providing specialist knowledge and education in all aspects of infection prevention and control to multidisciplinary teams and services.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist knowledge and education in infection prevention and control to multidisciplinary teams and services.
• Deliver a planned infection prevention and control programme.
• Travel between NHS Lothian sites as required.
• Work as part of a team in a busy healthcare setting.
• Demonstrate continuing professional development.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Willingness to undertake additional specialist training, e.g., Infection Prevention and Control Specialist Practitioner Qualification.
• Broad range of clinical experience with significant clinical practice desirable.
• Must obtain or already hold PVG Scheme membership/record for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult); if not currently a PVG member, an application to Disclosure Scotland must be made and deemed satisfactory before starting.
• Right to work in the UK (visa/immigration permission) as required by the UK Visa and Immigration Service.
