257335 (AP) Trainee Biomedical Scientist

About the role

The Royal Infirmary Edinburgh Department of Laboratory Medicine Infection Science (Bacteriology) is seeking two Biomedical Scientists (Band 5) to join their team. This is a fixed-term position lasting 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of routine and specialist procedures in Microbiology
• Aid in the diagnosis of disease and the treatment of patients
• Participate in the 24/7 working system as training progresses

Requirements

• Candidates must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
• Experience in a Microbiology laboratory is preferred
• An IBMS accredited degree or equivalent will also be considered

Qualifications

• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
• IBMS accredited degree or equivalent

Skills

• Motivated and enthusiastic
• Hardworking
• Experience in Microbiology laboratory
• Ability to work in a 24/7 system
