252914 R1 Specialist Rotational Radiographer
About the role
The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Rotational Radiographer to join their imaging team. The role involves rotating between Cardiovascular Labs and the main radiography department, covering various areas including A&E, theatres, mobile radiography, inpatient and outpatient x-ray imaging, fluoroscopy, orthopaedics, and CT.
Responsibilities
- Work across a range of areas including A&E, theatres, mobile radiography, inpatient and outpatient x-ray imaging, fluoroscopy, orthopaedics, East Sector Community Hospitals, and CT.
- Maintain and develop general radiographic skills while gaining specialist modality experience.
- Support a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures in Cardiac Cath Labs and Interventional Radiology, including cardiac procedures, electrophysiology, cardiac device procedures, vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology, and emergency procedures such as primary percutaneous coronary intervention and arterial embolisation.
- Contribute to the delivery of a busy acute and general radiography service, participating in relevant 5/7, evening, weekend, and out-of-hours rota arrangements.
- Participate in the supervision, teaching, and support of students, newly appointed radiographers, assistant practitioners, and clinical assistants.
Requirements
Previous experience in CT, Cardiac Cath Labs, or Interventional Radiology is advantageous but not essential. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate leadership and contribute to the development of practical and theoretical knowledge across rotational areas.
Qualifications
The postholder will be expected to have the necessary qualifications and experience to perform the duties outlined above. Training and support will be provided to help the successful candidate develop the required knowledge and skills.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and proficiency in using a wide range of modern imaging equipment are essential.

Pay
The salary for this post is £35,905 - £41,946 per annum.
Schedule
