Employment Type: Full-Time Work Location: Mill Valley, CA (United States) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM Compensation: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour Job Description Summary The Security Officer maintains a safe, secure environment by actively monitoring premises, enforcing site policies, and responding to incidents. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can deliver exceptional customer service while protecting personnel, property, and assets. Job Requirements, Prerequisites, And Essential Functions Job Specifications Education: High school diploma or higher required Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of security experience required Previous Military Or Law Enforcement Experience Preferred Licenses and Certifications Valid California Security Guard Card required Must be authorized to work in the United States Prerequisite Skills Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations Strong observational and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Duties And Responsibilities Essential Functions (Not Modifiable) Security Operations Monitor, control, and secure access to assigned facilitiesConduct regular foot patrols of the propertyEnforce site rules, regulations, and proceduresIdentify and respond to potential security threats Incident Response Respond to emergencies including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security threatsDetain individuals when necessary in accordance with company policy and legal guidelinesReport all incidents, accidents, and irregularities accurately and promptly Access Control & Surveillance Verify and allow authorized personnel and materials in and out of the facilityMonitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activity Additional Requirements Must be in good physical condition Must be able to travel as required for assignments Must be able to pass background screening, drug testing, and any required fitness assessments Must provide professional references Data Security and Confidentiality Employees in this position may have access to sensitive information, including incident reports, security procedures, and client data.
