#243.1 - Continuing, Part-time (.143 FTE) Student Success Teacher

About the role

Skeena Middle School in Terrace, BC is seeking a Continuing, part‑time (.143 FTE) Student Success Teacher to begin immediately. The school is part of School District #82 (Coast Mountains), which serves approximately 4,100 students across nineteen schools in northwest British Columbia. The district encompasses the traditional territories of the Gitxsan, Haisla, Nisga’a and Tsimshian nations and is committed to an inclusive, caring learning community that supports all learners to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social and emotional learning difficulties.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
• Relate effectively with students, parents and staff members.
• Follow the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning.

Requirements

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible to obtain).
• Experience teaching students at all grade levels.
• Working knowledge of the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

• Relocation allowance: $1,000 – $5,000 (conditions may apply).
• Recruitment and Retention allowance: $3,500 paid over 10 months of the school year (based on FTE).
• Isolation Allowances (paid over 10 months): Hazelton $1,287; Kitwanga $1,528; Stewart $4,824.

Pay

Salary as per the collective agreement: $63,513 – $117,454 (based on 1.00 FTE placement).
