About the Role
The Town's nursing facility, Our Island Home, seeks qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Assistant. This is an SEIU Union Position.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of skilled work including but not limited to general building maintenance and facilities projects as directed by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
Requirements
- Excellent customer service and communication skills essential.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, as well as vehicle and small gas engine powered equipment preferred.
- Must hold a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
- High School Degree or equivalent; a minimum of one (1) year prior work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Schedule
Twenty-four (24) hours per week.
Pay
$28.45 per hour new hire - $36.04 per hour with 18 years of service with the town.
