About the role

We are seeking highly motivated Software Engineering co-ops to join our team. You will work closely with software engineers to build and maintain software applications, gain training on the full software creation process, and contribute to automation, debugging, and documentation.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain software applications under the guidance of AMD engineers.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle: design, build, testing, and deployment.
Develop scripts to automate aspects of the software development process.
Apply debugging methodologies to investigate and resolve software issues.
Contribute to technical and functional documentation as needed.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a US-based undergraduate degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Knowledge or experience with any of the following (or related areas) is a plus:
- Software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
- Programming languages: C/C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, Perl, or Linux/Windows shell scripting.
- Operating systems: UNIX/Linux.
- Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
- Cloud computing platforms: Azure.
- Web development frameworks: Django, Rails, Spring Boot.
- Markup languages: HTML, XML, XSL.
- Defect tracking, testing, and debugging tools.
- Version control: Git, GitHub, Perforce.
- Security technologies: OAuth, SSL, TLS.
- PC/CPU architecture, embedded systems, or microcontrollers.

Schedule

Spring/Summer Co-op: January 15, 2027 – August 13, 2027 (full-time, 40 hours/week).
Summer Internship (Semester Students): May 24, 2027 – August 13, 2027.
Summer Internship (Quarter Students): June 21, 2027 – September 10, 2027.
Summer/Fall Co-op (Semester Students): May 24, 2027 – December 10, 2027.
Summer/Fall Co-op (Quarter Students): June 21, 2027 – December 10, 2027.

This role requires full-time, in-person or hybrid work at one of the following locations: Austin, TX; Boxborough, MA; Fort Collins, CO; Longmont, CO; Fishkill, NY; Rochester, NY.
