If that sparks your interest, keep reading… What You’ll Do As a MISO Intern Build and improve automation that helps create, configure, and secure computer systems for MISO’s critical operations.Work with engineers to troubleshoot issues, implement fixes, and see your automation make real systems more reliable and easier to deploy.Use tools like Ansible, Python, GitHub Actions, and Packer to replace manual steps with faster, more consistent, and secure processes.Attend community service events, intern socials, networking activities, and development programming to help you grow your confidence, build relationships, and understand MISO’s broader mission.Wrap up the summer with a final presentation summarizing your project work, recommendations, and areas of impact. We Are Looking For Students Who… Are pursuing Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering (undergraduate or graduate).Have coursework or experience in operating systems, IT infrastructure, systems administration, and programming (especially Python).Are comfortable using or learning tools like Windows/Unix administration, Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Packer, and Python.Have hands-on experience with Windows or Linux systems, scripting, and version control.Are curious, collaborative, mission-driven, and eager to learn automation tools and troubleshoot technical issues. To be eligible for the program, you must be available to start Wednesday, June 2 nd , 2027 and continue through Friday, August 13 th , 2027. No VISA sponsorship opportunities, including OPT/CPT.
