2027 Internship- Hardware Engineer (FPGA)
About the role
Virtu is an industry-leading financial technology firm that operates both proprietary trading and client-facing businesses in the global financial marketplace. Our cutting-edge, proprietary technology is core to everything we do. We trade in over 35 countries, across 235 financial exchanges, and service over 25% of retail order flow in the US.
Our 10-week FPGA internship program is designed to immerse you in ultra-low latency trading. You will tackle real engineering challenges that keep our trading systems competitive, working alongside experienced engineers on projects where every nanosecond counts. Our hardware team designs both FPGA and ASIC solutions at the heart of our market-making infrastructure. You'll engage in the full design lifecycle—from architecture and RTL implementation through simulation, verification, and bring-up on live hardware. By the end of the internship, you'll have transformed an idea into a tangible, silicon-based solution.
No finance background is required. We seek curious engineers who thrive on hard problems at the intersection of hardware and software. What matters most is how you think and learn.
