About the role

Our engineering program offers the chance to explore a wide range of opportunities in research and engineering while working on real projects such as:

  • Product and process design
  • Improvements to raw materials and finishing supplies
  • Product development and enhancement
  • Experimental design and data analysis
  • Operations experience in a production facility

You’ll receive meaningful work experience that contributes to Kimberly-Clark’s strategic business goals, with responsibilities and accountabilities as a valued contributor. Performance evaluations will provide professional feedback to help you gauge strengths and areas for improvement.

Students work on multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of experienced engineers and scientists, collaborating with functions like marketing, finance, and operations. Projects address specific gaps or problems the team needs to solve.

Schedule

We offer flexible work schedules to fit your needs at our manufacturing and staff locations across the United States:

  • Co-Op (6 or 9 months) – Full-time (Monday–Friday)
    • Locations: Beech Island, SC; Chester, PA; Jenks, OK; LaGrange, GA; Loudon, TN; Marinette, WI; Maumelle, AR; Mobile, AL; Neenah, WI; New Milford, CT; Ogden, UT; Owensboro, KY; Paris, TX; Roswell, GA
    • Dates: Spring/Summer 2027 (January–August) or Summer/Fall 2027 (May–December)
  • Summer Internship (3 months) – Full-time (Monday–Friday)
    • Locations: Corinth, MS; Neenah, WI
    • Dates: Summer 2027 (May–August)

Qualifications

  • Strong academic performance, with a preferred minimum 3.0 GPA (out of 4.0)
  • Completion of at least one year of college coursework
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to drive results
  • Problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred:

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Power BI/Query, Tableau, CAD, or SolidWorks

Pay

Starting hourly wage: $24.50 USD (eligible for overtime pay). Note: This pay range applies to U.S. locations only.

Functional Overview

  • Product Developer

    Assignments focus on improving the fit, form, or function of products. Examples include test method development, consumer research and testing, and product modeling.

  • Material

    Assignments focus on improving or optimizing materials used in products. Examples include test method development, material testing analysis, material qualification trials, and fiber development.

  • Process

    Work in a production facility or on a development team. In production, co-ops improve manufacturing line efficiencies or reduce waste. On development teams, co-ops create prototypes or process systems and conduct trials. Both roles involve hands-on experience and data analysis.

  • Mechanical

    Work in operations or on equipment development/design teams. In production, co-ops apply mechanical engineering principles to improve efficiencies and asset capability. On development teams, co-ops may work on new product/process development or prototype assets.

  • Electrical

    Focus on electrical solutions for design, development, optimization, and problem-solving of manufacturing processes. Work includes industrial network topology, PLCs, motor controllers, and discrete control hardware.

  • Packaging

    Support packaging development from concept to launch, aligning with brand and category strategies. Develop, design, and specify packaging structures and materials to meet consumer and business needs, ensuring safe shipping and attractive merchandising.
