2027 Dallas 2L Summer Associate

About the Program

McGuireWoods’ Dallas office is accepting applications for the 2027 2L summer associate program. As an international law firm with 21 offices, McGuireWoods offers a rewarding, supportive culture focused on professional success, growth, and development. The summer associate program provides resources and training to perform challenging, sophisticated work early in your career, with opportunities not commonly available at other firms.

Responsibilities

• Choose projects based on practice area interests and collaborate with lawyers across the firm.
• Attend client meetings, depositions, corporate closings, trials, and appellate arguments.
• Prepare research memoranda and draft pleadings, briefs, and corporate transaction documents.
• Participate in special training opportunities, social events, networking, and a firmwide summer associate retreat.
• Engage in the Pro Bono Mentor Program, working on pro bono matters for clients.

Mentorship & Support

Each summer associate is assigned a supervisor and mentor who introduce them to lawyers in their office and across the firm.

Requirements

• Enrolled in and in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school with an anticipated graduation date of 2028.
• Outstanding academic credentials, leadership and interpersonal skills, and work experience.
• Demonstrated alignment with the firm’s core values: excellence, integrity, client service, diversity and inclusion, community, and collegiality.

• Provide a transcript: submit your fall 2025 transcript initially; update with spring 2026 grades once available by sending to AttorneyRecruiting-Koch@mcguirewoods.com.

Pay

The 2027 summer salary is not yet set. The 2025 summer salary was $4,325 per week.
