2027 Corporate Tax Winter-Spring Internship
About the role
Our department owns all tax responsibilities for federal and state income, premium, sales and use, and personal property taxes. We also collaborate with other Nationwide departments that own the payroll tax, property tax, product taxation, 1099 reporting, and government relations functions. Since Nationwide's business is domestic-focused, we have minimal foreign tax issues that global companies face. However, we do have filing requirements for nearly all states and U.S. territories.
The tax intern will primarily work with our premium tax team, preparing various tax returns and other calculations, assisting with notices, and other team projects. The role will be exposed to other tax functions such as federal and state income tax processes through onboarding sessions or tasked assignments. We place a heavy emphasis on continuous improvement in the department, so interns are encouraged to provide suggestions for improvements and perhaps work on implementing projects.
