Responsibilities
As a Finance Controllership Intern, you’ll gain exposure to meaningful work that builds your skills. Your responsibilities may include:
- Leading a self-directed continuous improvement project
- Reviewing and updating standard operating procedures
- Assisting with financial reporting and special projects
- Reconciling balance sheets
- Preparing statutory accounting schedules and documentation
- Supporting process automation initiatives
- Auditing expenses and preparing escheat filings
- Managing risk and controls, including testing and reporting
- Assisting with tax return preparation and filing
You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of corporate accounting, regulatory compliance, and how finance drives business strategy.

Pay
The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is $23 - $50. Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment.
This co-op is remote or hybrid. Applications are anticipated to be accepted until 12/03/2026, though the posting may close sooner if a strong candidate slate is identified before the deadline. This position could be filled within any of the lower 48 U.S. states.
