About the role

St Mary of the Cross MacKillop Catholic Parish Primary School (SMCM), Epping North, is a faith-filled, diverse and student-centred learning community focused on evidence-based learning, teaching and wellbeing practices to ensure the full flourishing of every child. SMCM is an integral part of the faith community of St Peter’s Parish, Epping and is one of four parish primary schools, governed under the authority of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Limited (MACS). MACS is the employer of all staff at SMCM.

With 650 students, our growing school is well-resourced with new facilities, technology and a team of over 80 dedicated staff. Our modern and flexible learning spaces provide an environment for collaborative and targeted learning opportunities, while outdoor spaces embrace nature play and expansive play areas. Teachers have four hours each week to plan, collaborate and engage in professional learning, ensuring face-to-face teaching is purposeful and effective. A team of dedicated curriculum leaders collaborates with teachers to support and develop learning and teaching practices aligned with the MACS Vision for Instruction & Engagement. Learning Support Officers work alongside teachers to meet student needs, and a shared responsibility for student learning and wellbeing is valued by all.

SMCM is a special place due to the tenacity and enthusiasm of the students, the dedication of the staff and the support and engagement of the families. We look forward to welcoming new staff to our team.
