About the Role

As part of the BNY Summer Internship Program, you’ll join the Engineering – Production Services practice, which operates on a “Follow the Sun” philosophy to deliver 24/7 IT Service Management across applications and infrastructure. The team ensures a controlled, secure production environment aligned with the platforms it supports, focusing on winning new clients and maintaining high service quality through automation, alerting, monitoring, operational efficiency, and stability.

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of applications and technology platforms in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and execute work, resolve issues, and support both short-term fixes and long-term improvements.
  • Leverage AI and other toolsets to monitor production health, analyze trends and performance data, and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and support activities while building knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve application performance.
  • Identify application gaps, improvements, and opportunities by monitoring the production environment.
  • Engineer solutions that improve app performance, increase resiliency, and reduce risk.
  • Grow the Engineering mindset to build these principles into the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSSDLC).

The BNY Summer Internship Program is a 10-week experience designed to accelerate development, build professional networks, and provide meaningful exposure to one of the world’s leading financial services institutions. Program Eligibility

  • Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program with a strong focus on business-related and/or technology-related majors preferred.
  • Graduating in December 2027 or May 2028 (U.S.).
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Does not require sponsorship for employment visa status (now or in the future) in the country where applying.

Pay

The base salary for this internship position is expected to be between $52,000 and $80,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary is determined on an individualized basis, including experience and market location, and is part of BNY’s total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company-sponsored benefit programs.
