2027 Associate Engineer Systems / Engineer Systems

This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in one of the following locations: Palmdale, CA / Redondo Beach, CA / El Segundo, CA / San Diego, CA. Relocation assistance may be available. A Top Secret clearance is required to start; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Perform system engineering analyses across the full lifecycle (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal).
• Analyze performance data to identify failure modes, validate data integrity, and generate clear, data-driven recommendations.
• Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations to resolve issues and drive reliability improvements.
• Develop and implement support solutions that enhance system reliability, maintainability, and overall lifecycle performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product support teams on Reliability & Maintainability, Supportability, Modeling & Simulation, and Support Equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, review technical data, and support testing to ensure solutions meet technical and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Systems (T01) or Engineer Systems (T02) level.

Associate Engineer Systems (T01)

• Be completing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2027.
• Majoring in or have majored in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar STEM degree.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).

Engineer Systems (T02)

• Be completing or have completed a Master’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2027, or be completing or have completed a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by August 2027 and have 2 years of systems engineering experience.
• Majoring in or have majored in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar STEM degree.
• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher.
• Previous internship, co-op, or other work experience.
• Leadership and teamwork capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Involvement in professional, community, or extracurricular activities.

Pay

Associate Engineer Systems (T01): $76,200.00 – $114,400.00

Engineer Systems (T02): $91,800.00 – $137,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
