2027 Agribusiness Commercial Property Claims Intern

Over the course of 12 weeks, interns take part in key business assignments that make a difference, all while enhancing their leadership competencies.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing and summarizing first notice of loss reports and supporting claim file setup.
- Aiding in property damage investigations by gathering photos, estimates, inspection reports, invoices, and other supporting documentation.
- Participating in claim evaluation activities, including policy coverage reviews and property damage assessments.
- Drafting professional correspondence and collaborating with insureds, agents, contractors, vendors, and other business partners.
- Shadowing experienced adjusters during field visits, inspections, or virtual assessments.
- Supporting reporting initiatives and process improvement projects related to property claims operations.
- Learning about agribusiness property risks, coverages, and claims-handling practices.
- Assisting with payment requests, reserve reviews, and claim resolution activities.
- Serving as a liaison between insureds, agents, contractors, vendors, and other business partners.
- Completing a capstone project and presenting recommendations to Agribusiness Claims leadership.
Requirements
Pursuit of a degree in Insurance, Agribusiness, Risk Management, Agricultural Economics, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred. Junior status preferred. Involvement in student organizations, leadership activities, and/or prior work experience.

Pay
The national hourly pay range for Nationwide Internships is: $23 - $50.
Schedule
Interns typically work full-time during the summer months, from May to August.
