About the role

This posting is for Spanish Immersion teachers for the 2027-2028 school year. The position is available for elementary or middle school levels.

Responsibilities

  • Teach all classroom instruction in Spanish beginning in kindergarten for elementary students.
  • Introduce English language arts starting in 3rd - 5th grade for elementary students.
  • Expand Spanish speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills and develop multicultural awareness for middle school students.
  • Teach Spanish science, Spanish social studies, and Spanish language arts daily in middle school.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • South Dakota certification or licensure with endorsements in the areas of teaching assignment required.
  • Candidates must submit a Foreign Credential Evaluation as part of the certification process.
  • Must have successful student teaching or experience teaching in a Spanish learning environment.
  • Must have native or near-native Spanish skills with fluency in both Spanish and English.
  • Must meet District Spanish language competency standards for oral and written proficiency.
