2026 - YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake Kitchen Specialist

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in preparing meals for campers and staff members, including salad and sandwich bars, special dietary needs, setting up the dining hall for mealtimes, and snacks.
• Fulfills YMCA policies and procedures, including medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
• Assists the Kitchen Director with cleaning kitchen appliances, cleaning the kitchen and dining hall spaces, dishwashing, organizing inventory and food service deliveries.
• Reports to the Kitchen Director.
• Maintains the kitchen and dining hall areas to meet Colorado State licensing and inspections, health inspections, ACA preparation and visitation.
• Maintains confidentiality of YMCA issues and records.
• Maintains friendly, professional relationships with staff, participants, and community members.
• Practices positive guidance and preventative discipline techniques with natural consequences.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• CPR/AED, First Aid certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.

Qualifications

• Attends and completes staff meetings, trainings, and all mandatory licensing required trainings.
• Adheres to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
• Attends required abuse risk management training.
• Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
• Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
• Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
