Responsibilities

• Outside Machinists: Assembly and shipboard mechanical work in the shipyard.
• Carpenters: Building staging, platforms, and scaffolding for other trades.
• Painters: Preserving the hull and components through sealing with chemicals and paints.
• Shipfitters: Laying out and fabricating metal structural parts.
• Grinders: Working with various metals and pipes to be formed with precision.
• Sheetmetal Workers: Layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of light gauge metalwork.

Requirements

• High school senior graduating by August 2026.
• US Citizen.
• Available to train and work on any shift.
• Ability to work at heights, confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions.
• Possess basic hand tools.
• Collaborative and team environment skills.
• Effective communication with supervision and peers.
• Physical abilities including climbing, color vision, crawling, heavy lifting, kneeling, light lifting, medium lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, twisting.
• Environmental attributes: exposure to acids or alkalis, cold, dry, dusty, fumes, hot, inside, noise, oily, outside, wet.
