2026 Phil Ochs Fellowship

The Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, home to the Phil Ochs Archives, is pleased to announce the call for proposals for the 2026 Phil Ochs Fellowship.

About the role

• Award amount: Up to $5,000
• Focus: Creative or scholarly projects about the life and work of songwriter and protest singer Phil Ochs, and his lasting legacy and influence on popular culture, politics, and music.

Responsibilities

• Research and write about Phil Ochs' life and work.
• Explore the impact of Phil Ochs' music and activism on contemporary issues.
• Create a final project that contributes to the understanding and appreciation of Phil Ochs' contributions.

Requirements

• Applicants must have a strong background in musicology, history, or related fields.
• Experience with archival research and writing is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Qualifications

• Passion for Phil Ochs' work and its relevance to current social and political issues.
• Strong analytical and writing skills.
• Interest in contributing to the preservation and promotion of Phil Ochs' legacy.
