2026 Part-Time Mechanical Engineering Intern - Chandler AZ

About the role

This position will be located at our Space sector in Chandler, AZ. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Vehicle and Mechanical Engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering problems
• Perform detailed design calculations and analysis
• Work on projects related to spacecraft and vehicle engineering

Requirements

• Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Spring 2027
• Majoring in a STEM field
• Available to work part-time (no more than 20 hours per week) during the fall 2026 semester
• Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

Qualifications

• Overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher preferred

Pay

• Bachelor’s: $17.75 to $32.75 per hour
• Master’s: $25.50 to $40.50 per hour
