About the role

FHLB Dallas actively seeks dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our professional team. Positions are offered on an as-needed basis for all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Learn how a wholesale bank operates, including loan making, collateral usage, and the influence on mortgage lending.
  • Aid in data-driven activities affecting financial operational processes.
  • Build, automate, and support data reports, metrics, and analytics.
  • Collect, analyze, and develop data/reports for managing various departments within the organization, including dashboards, monitoring credit risk, collateral, and/or operations risks.
  • Meet with business units to understand their processes.
  • Think creatively and problem-solve to simplify processes, reduce errors, enhance effectiveness and efficiency, and utilize technology to automate manual processes.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, data science, or taking a few computer courses.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, and taking a few courses in economics, finance.
  • Demonstrated passion for using technology to solve problems.
  • Strong analytical skills, including problem-solving, attention to detail, collaboration with team members, and communication of results/findings to senior management.
  • Ability to work with large and complex data sets, create and manipulate Excel spreadsheets, and use SQL query language, VBA (or other object-oriented programming language), and SSRS report builder.
  • Ability to break down ideas/issues leading to solutions, conduct research to uncover answers, and provide solutions.
  • Organized and highly detail-oriented.
  • Take initiative on various tasks and be successful in working groups and on teams.
  • Comfortable working and learning in a virtual environment.

Pay

Hours are flexible and depend on the student's class schedule, course requirements (if applicable), and availability. Hours per week: 29.
