Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Aid the accountant in ensuring that client contractual requirements are met regarding billing and accounts receivable.
- Support the accountant in auditing client billing and project ledger, adhering to contract requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and company policies.
- Process accounts payable for vendor invoices and keep accounts updated for assigned projects.
- Handle accounts payable for subcontractor invoices, coordinating with the accountant to ensure lien waivers are submitted and necessary contracts and insurance requirements are in place.
- Contribute to the monthly closing process, ensuring all client bills and project costs are posted or accrued as appropriate.
- Provide monthly updates on projects' assets and rentals for insurance documentation with the project team.
- Assist with project financial closeout, verifying that final contract amounts and all closeout documentation requirements have been met according to agreements with subcontractors.
- Respond to all internal and external audit requests as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited and credentialed program, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Ability to research problems, resolve them promptly, learn quickly, and meet deadlines.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and self-checking work habits.
- Capable of working independently, with some supervision, and in team settings.
- Follow established procedures and execute tasks without needing frequent follow-up from management.
- Good work ethic, integrity, dependability, adaptability, cooperation, and motivation to take on new responsibilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and general office proficiency.
- Data entry skills and proficiency with databases and computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands
- Regularly climbs stairs, uses construction personnel hoists, negotiates ladders, and works in construction areas.
- Requires close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sits, talks, hears, stands, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Occasionally lifts and moves heavy weights.
Work Environment
- Works on-site at construction work sites, exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
- Noisy environments with moderate to very loud noise levels.
