2026-27 STEM Teacher

Position Summary

A teacher will provide hands-on, project-based STEM curriculum that students will learn to apply math and science to real-world situations, developing problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills that 21st century employers identify as critical.

Qualification Requirements

• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
• Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Math and/or Science preferred, but not required

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Participate in curriculum review and design
• Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives
• Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
• Achieve the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required
• Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL, Reading, Special Reading)
• Effectively implement district initiatives and collaborate with department and grade level teachers
• Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above

Language And Grammar Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
• Frequent talking or hearing
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds, frequently lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds, and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles
• Frequent exposure to high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold (including outdoors), extreme heat (including direct sunlight), risk of electrical shock and vibration
• Noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Occasionally required to supervise a varying number of employees in the overall direction, coordination, and completion of tasks as assigned
