Summary

Responsible for assessing and providing therapy in the area of speech/language for students ranging from Kindergarten to 12th grade and providing instruction based on students' Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs).

Job Tasks

  • Develop, plan, prepare, and implement:
    • Individual, measurable, long-term, and short-term objectives based on student identified needs.
    • Effective working schedule.
    • Apply learning techniques to enhance/motivate students to meet IEP goals and objectives and evaluate student performance based on IEPs.
    • Maintain necessary documentation of student performance and write clear and concise diagnostic results.
    • Provide and maintain student involvement during instruction.
    • Monitor student growth and progress, adapt support as needed, and maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.
    • Communicate students' progress and needs with parents and other staff as needed.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to:
      • Understand, appreciate, and make accommodations for student diversity.
      • Include and engage families in the student's education.
      • Support all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and expectations.
      • Provide personal and professional excellence.
      • Participate in:
        • Multi-disciplinary diagnostic and placement teams.
        • Department, team, building, and district meetings and discussions.
        • Student and/or family conferences and other meetings.
        • Social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities.
        • Professional growth opportunities.
        • Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.

    Education, Experience, and Licenses Required

    • Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.
    • Experience working with children identified with speech/language needs in a public education setting preferred.
    • Criminal background check required for hire.
    • Valid Colorado Special Services license with Speech Language Specialist endorsement required.
    • CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.

    Pay

    Pay for this position is determined by the Licensed Educator Salary Schedule based on years of experience and education. Range for position is $58,000 - $89,278 annually (based on a 100% assignment starting August 6th, 2025).
