About the role

The Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing in College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Construction Management is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-27 academic year. Successful candidates will be able to teach a range of courses in mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, or advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibility of part time lecturers is teaching at the undergraduate level.
  • Position duties may also include supervision of laboratories, student advising, capstone project advising, and program outreach.
  • Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

Requirements

  • The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, proficiency in spoken and written English, and expertise in at least one of the three department disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience is preferred.
  • Advanced or terminal degrees in related disciplines are preferred.
  • Industrial experience in mechanical or mechatronic engineering or advanced manufacturing is preferred.
  • Professional credentials such as a professional engineer’s license and/or manufacturing specific certifications such as CMfgE or CMfgT are considered.

Pay

  • Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
  • Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
  • Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
  • Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 – $15,211 per month

Schedule

  • Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
