About the role
The Civil Engineering Department in the College of Engineering, Computer Science & Construction Management is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-27 academic year. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures
- Create/grade assignments
- Create/grade exams
- Teach undergraduate civil engineering courses
- Lead learning activities and laboratory exercises
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a closely related field)
- Significant relevant professional or teaching experience
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Technical skills appropriate for courses taught
- Ability to teach undergraduate civil engineering courses
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in the civil engineering profession
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE), Structural Engineer (SE), or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)

- Out of State Employment: All work must be performed within the State of California.
