About the Role
The Kinesiology Department in the College of Communication and Education is collecting application materials for a pool of lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2026-27 academic year. Appointments from the lecturer pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.
Pay
- Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
- Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
- Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
- Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 – $15,211 per month
Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate courses in Kinesiology. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree for physical activity courses (100 level).
- Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field for all other courses.
- Note: Some 100-level courses (e.g., yoga) may require additional certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching.

The Department
The Department of Kinesiology is a member of the American Kinesiology Association (AKA) and is a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Educationally Recognized Program. We are a learning community of 12 full-time faculty, more than 20 part-time faculty, and approximately 700 major students. Department faculty hold national and international leadership positions and are known for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and professional service.
