Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, district, and school Special Education regulations and policies
- Develop and manage the IEPs and ensure all requirements of the IEP are met
- Oversee the development, revision, and execution of student IEPs and 504 Plans
- Review and, where necessary, revise student IEPs to ensure all students have the necessary supports to be successful
- Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to modify regular curricula as needed, answer questions, and provide strategies to assist special education students in the general education classroom
- Use progress-monitoring tools to analyze student results for the purpose of modifying and adjusting strategies, programming, and IEPs
- Adapt and differentiate general education teachers’ weekly lesson plans and assessments as needed to meet individual student goals
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, teachers, and the leadership team
- Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school-wide meetings and functions
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Experience: Experience in a classroom setting is strongly preferred
- Licenses Or Certifications: Relevant Florida Teaching Certification or Eligibility for Certification (ESE K-12)
