Essential Functions
- Covers moves and opens new schools by coordinating and assisting with the movement of office equipment, furniture, classroom items and other supplies.
- Distributes items such as mail sacks, confidential records, boxes, packages, cargo, custodial supplies, furniture, equipment, etc., to assigned locations and/or individuals.
- Loads and unloads delivery vehicles to receive stock and/or fill orders for transport.
- Maintains delivery vehicles by checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, etc., to ensure safe operation of vehicles.
- Maintains manual and electronic documents, files, and records to document activities and provide reliable resource information.
- Maintains mail room equipment, tools, work areas, and warehouse materials to ensure the availability of items to complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
- Operates vehicles and warehouse equipment to transport orders and materials to designated sites.
- Verifies stock and identifies losses by participating in physical inventories.
- Prepares items for mailing and/or transporting, such as packages, bulk mail, FED EX and UPS items, certified mail, international mail, auction and salvage items, etc., to meet delivery requirements.
- Receives stock and nonstock items to verify, inspect, tag, and stage all delivered warehouse and vendor orders ensuring specifications, quantity, and quality of orders are correct.
- Researches discrepancies on orders and/or invoices to correct errors and/or return damaged/incorrect items to vendors.
- Responds to inquiries of staff and vendors regarding invoices, billing, status of deliveries, etc.
- Secures work sites by securing doors, gates, alarms, lights, etc., to minimize property damage, equipment loss, and/or potential liability.
- Sorts internal and external mail to distribute to appropriate parties.
- Trains assigned personnel on procedures used and correct drop sites at facilities serviced to develop their professional and safety awareness skills.
- Transports a variety of items such as records/files, testing materials, equipment, damaged and surplus goods, bank deposits, mail, payroll, confidential documents, etc., to assigned locations or individuals as required.
Other Functions
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Adhering to safety practices; operating equipment used in warehouse operations; operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records; material handling techniques.
- Knowledge: Understanding written procedures, writing routine documents, speaking clearly; understanding basic computer use; basic vehicle maintenance; safety practices and procedures.
- Ability: Scheduling activities and/or meetings; gathering and/or collating data; considering a number of factors when using equipment; communicating with diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; physical stamina; ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
