Lunchroom Helpers

Horace Mann is seeking Lunchroom Helpers to work in the lunchroom 12 hours per week.

Essential Duties

• Monitor student behavior in the cafeteria.
• Observe students during lunch periods.
• Advise students and direct appropriate behavior in a friendly manner.
• Maintain a safe environment for students: report spills or other hazards, help students stay in line.
• Assist students physically during their lunch periods by helping carry items or trays, or directing them to waste disposal sites or to the cafeteria exits.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to develop good relationships with students and staff.
• Ability to be sensitive to the needs of others.
• Ability to relate to students with warmth, friendliness and understanding.
• Lifting may be required for some tasks of the positions.
• Must be on time to the job every day.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

This is a temporary 10 month position working 12 hours per week with a pay rate of $16 per hour. This position is not benefit eligible.
