Cal State LA’s College of Business and Economics invites applications for the 2026-27 Academic-Year Lecturer Pool in the Department of Management. Positions are part-time, temporary, and filled each semester as enrollment and budget allow. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, with possible renewal based on departmental need, funding, and performance. Some appointments may be made on short notice just prior to the start of the term.
Minimum Qualifications
- An MBA or M.S. degree in a management-related field from an accredited institution of higher education at the time of employment.
- Industry or relevant professional experience.
- Commitment to staying current in the field through ongoing professional practice (required for continued employment).
- Ability or interest in teaching in a multicultural, multiethnic campus with prior teaching experience and evidence of high teaching effectiveness.
- Ability to relate well to others within the academic environment and to work in a multiethnic, multicultural setting.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
- Relevant work experience and training.
- Appropriate doctoral or terminal degree.
Responsibilities
- Instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours.
- Additional duties as assigned by the department.
- Course assignments (dates, time, modality) determined by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.

Pay
Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range. Most new faculty lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
- Lecturer A/2 Full-time equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
- Lecturer B/3 Full-time equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
- Lecturer C/4 Full-time equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
- Lecturer D/5 Full-time equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 – $15,211 per month
