About the role
We are seeking an educator to lead small-group instruction for grades K-4, delivering a rigorous academic curriculum aligned with both the school’s standards and New York State standards. This role involves teaching students in a high-quality, engaging manner, collaborating with a team of teachers, and committing to continuous professional and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead small-group instruction for grades K-4.
- Teach a rigorous academic curriculum combining school and New York State standards.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction to students.
- Collaborate with a team of teachers to drive professional and personal growth.
- Assess student progress consistently and communicate results to families and colleagues.
- Provide individual or small group instruction for students needing additional support.
- Model a “whatever it takes” spirit to ensure student success.
- Uphold the school’s values in all communications with students, families, and staff.
Requirements
- At least two years of teaching experience (strongly preferred).
- New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area.
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- Strong interpersonal skills and alignment with KIPP NYC’s character traits: zest, grit, hope, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.
