About the Role

Secondary Mathematics Teacher responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in mathematics to high school students.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with state and district standards.
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special needs and English language learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, instructional strategies, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and concerns.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and content knowledge.
  • Supervise and monitor students during class, transitions, and extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by school administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid Nevada teaching license with an endorsement in Secondary Mathematics (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of secondary mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level preferred.
  • Familiarity with Nevada Academic Content Standards for Mathematics.
  • Experience with data-driven instruction and differentiated learning strategies.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction (e.g., graphing calculators, educational software).
