About the Role
Secondary Mathematics Teacher responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in mathematics to high school students.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with state and district standards.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special needs and English language learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, instructional strategies, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and content knowledge.
- Supervise and monitor students during class, transitions, and extracurricular activities as assigned.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by school administration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid Nevada teaching license with an endorsement in Secondary Mathematics (or eligibility for licensure).
- Demonstrated knowledge of secondary mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration with colleagues.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level preferred.
- Familiarity with Nevada Academic Content Standards for Mathematics.
- Experience with data-driven instruction and differentiated learning strategies.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction (e.g., graphing calculators, educational software).
